welcome to the world, sweet boy

Dear World,

He’s here. And he’s beautiful. And big! And healthy.

And despite what felt like endless weeks of waiting and complaining (that you merrily joined me in laughing along to), his arrival was quick and stunning and breath-taking, so perfect in its alignment with what I had always hoped and dreamed a birth could be.

I believe it calls for a little bending of my self-imposed blogging rules, to share with you a glimpse of his face and mine. Because there are a handful of moments when our mothering spirits shine so brightly that we can find ourselves in each other. And the astonishing passage of life from one side to another is one of them.

“It is no small thing when they, who are so fresh from God, love us.”

- Charles Dickens -

Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts for T’s arrival. Even from the cocoon of new babyhood, F and I are soaking up the love of friends and family across the miles, and those of you whose paths cross ours here are among the many blessings we number in these days of wonder.

More to come in the days to follow…

Love,

A very happy mama
